How to add an email signature in Apple Mail
Paste your formatted signature into Mail on macOS and assign it to an account.
Rich HTML supported on MacBefore you begin
Apple Mail supports formatted signatures and images. Its “match default font” option can override your design, so check that setting carefully.
- 01
Copy your finished signature
Open your completed SendSignatures design and select Copy signature. Keep this guide open in another tab while you install it.
- 02
Open Signatures settings
In Mail on your Mac, choose Mail → Settings, then select Signatures. Select the email account in the left column.
- 03
Create a signature
Select the add (+) button, give the signature a name, remove the sample text and paste your SendSignatures design into the right-hand editor.
- 04
Preserve its appearance
Turn off “Always match my default message font” when it changes the typography. Choose the signature as the default for the account if desired.
- 05
Position replies correctly
Choose whether the signature should appear above quoted text for replies and forwards. Close Settings when finished.
- 06
Send a proper test
Compose a new message to yourself and check the result in both a desktop and mobile inbox. Test every link and confirm that remote images load.
