How to add an email signature on iPhone or iPad
Set a reliable mobile Mail signature and understand the native editor’s formatting limits.
Native editor supports text onlyBefore you begin
Apple officially documents the iPhone and iPad Mail signature field as text-only. Use a concise text version here; install the full rich design on desktop clients.
- 01
Prepare a concise mobile version
Use your name, role, company, primary phone number and website. Avoid relying on images, columns or a campaign banner in the native mobile signature.
- 02
Open Mail settings
Open Settings → Apps → Mail, then scroll to Composing and select Signature.
- 03
Choose account behaviour
Select Per Account if different mailboxes need different signatures, or All Accounts for one shared text signature.
- 04
Replace the default text
Remove “Sent from my iPhone” and enter or paste your concise text signature. Settings saves automatically.
- 05
Send a proper test
Compose a new message to yourself and check the result in both a desktop and mobile inbox. Test every link and confirm that remote images load.
